Does this make you smile or give you the heeby-jeebs? It rather gives me the willies. Why does Jesus care anything about my neighbor’s tree trimming? Might not Jesus be a little prickly about putting his name on services whose business it is to cut trees and wood? Wood being the notorious material of crosses? Is Jesus’ place really to hawk tree trimming services or other wares? Does this overt display of faith necessarily equate to business integrity? The main issue I have is that it is an invitation for some less informed consumers to see this symbol and abandon any further judgment to determine whether the Jesus Saves tree people are going to do a good job. Does Jesus really want to be involved in marketing schemes? Doesn’t Jesus have better things to do? Higher callings taking up his time?
